How can we control Frac Sand Dust?
With employee health our number one concern and the recent regulations from OSHA and the EPA, we need a solution fast.
In June 2012, NIOSH issued a hazard alert in which 79% of all frac sites studied showed silica exposures greater than the NIOSH recommended exposure levels of 0.05 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3). Our hydraulic fracturing sand contains up to 99% silica and breathing this silica sand can cause silicosis, the lung disease where trapped silica particles cause lung tissue to react, causing inflammation, scarring, and reducing the lungs' ability to take in oxygen.
We need to take actions to reduce worker exposures and half-face respirators are just not effective for the silica exposure levels that we deal with on pressure pumping and hydraulic fracturing sites.
Who can we call?
Call: Frac Dust Control!
Our silica dust containment system captures 99.8% of all airborne silica dust particles as small as 0.5 Microns and our company can focus on all 7 of the primary sources of silica dust in order to lower exposure, provide healthier air quality for employees and equipment, and meet EPA and OSHA regulations.
